Meet Pixley
A traveller, a people watcher and a collector of small moments.
There’s a line from Lydia in Beetlejuice that I’ve always loved: “I myself am strange and unusual.” I relate to her curiosity and the way she notices things other people walk right past. I’ve always had a lively imagination, a lot of questions, and an appreciation for the little details that make life interesting. Those qualities shape how I connect with people and how I see the world.
That curiosity led me into a 15-year career as a photographer and later into travel journalism. For seven years, I authored Worth the Drive for WRCTV, traveling throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, meeting fascinating people, discovering incredible places, and collecting stories along the way.
I’ve also always loved technology. I like tinkering with electronics, figuring out how something works, and wondering what else it could do. That interest became a career in cybersecurity, technical sales, strategy, and automation, including working for and with Fortune 100 technology companies. Solving a technical problem draws on the same curiosity that makes me pick up a camera or ask someone about their life.
Letters from Pixley brings these interests together through writing, photography, art, and found curiosities. It’s a way to share what catches my attention and create a little more connection through something as simple as a letter.
